2. Website access and technical data

When you access the website, technical data may be processed automatically to deliver and secure the site. This can include your IP address, date and time of access, requested page, referrer, browser, operating system and similar connection information.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a stable and secure business website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Technical logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for operation, security and abuse prevention, subject to the hosting provider’s retention rules.

3. Sourcing requests and direct contact

The sourcing form sends your request through FormSubmit, a form delivery service, to julius.schenk@jlscons.com. FormSubmit processes the submitted fields only to deliver the request and apply basic abuse prevention. We do not use the form for advertising or profiling.

Depending on what you provide, this may include your name, company, email address, telephone number, delivery destination and the details of your botanical requirement. We use it to answer your inquiry, assess availability, prepare an offer and manage any resulting business relationship.

Processing is based on steps requested before entering into a contract and performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, and on our legitimate interest in handling business communications under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where a legal retention obligation applies, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR also applies.

4. Recipients

Personal data is shared only where necessary. Recipients may include hosting, email and IT service providers, professional advisers, logistics providers, and relevant producers or suppliers when this is required to respond to or fulfil a sourcing request. We do not sell personal data.

5. Hosting and external fonts

This website is hosted using ChatGPT Sites, a service provided by OpenAI. The hosting service may process technical connection and security data to operate the website. Further information is available in OpenAI’s privacy policy.

The website loads DM Sans and Manrope from Google Fonts. When these files are requested, your browser may transmit technical connection data, including your IP address, to Google. This is used to present the website consistently and is based on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Information about Google’s handling of data is available in Google’s privacy policy.

6. Cookies and analytics

jls consulting does not use advertising cookies, marketing trackers or analytics tools on this website. The consent banner stores your privacy choice in local browser storage so that it is not shown on every visit. This is necessary for remembering your choice.

Optional external fonts are loaded from Google Fonts only after you accept the optional preference. If you refuse optional preferences, the website remains functional using locally available sans-serif fonts.

7. International transfers

Some technical service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, transfers are handled using an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

8. Retention

Inquiry data is kept for as long as needed to respond and manage the potential or existing business relationship. Data required for contracts, accounting, tax, legal claims or regulatory obligations may be retained for the applicable statutory periods. Data that is no longer required is deleted or anonymised.

9. Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.

10. Automated decisions and policy updates
